That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore
Lately I’ve been making fun of a girl I used to know because she said the point of life (is there a point?) is to be happy. I’m thinking I’ve been misguided to make fun. Of course something that sounds so simple is ripe for humor, but that doesn’t make it false. Moreover, at least there’s a goal there. And it’s theoretically attainable within a human lifetime (1000 years if things go well!).
And so, I will find a new target for my jokes. Until I subsequently feel guilty about that one. Rinse and repeat.
